The roots of the Refosco vine are mindful of the past and reflect this in their fruits. The variety has been around what is now Italy’s Friuli-Venezia-Giulia region since the Romans, and the wines made of it long depictions in great acidity and tannins, of meaty savoriness, spice, green noted, rose, cedar, and deep but also shimmying color. Just like Friulian people, Refosco has a strong character that may seem strict and shy at first, but if given the chance unveils as generous and gentle, revealing an unforgettable softer inner core.
